During this step, the patient may experience continuous episodes of blurry visions and disorientations.
There are no stitches necessary when putting back the corneal flap into the cornea after the reshaping process. The eye surgeon carefully replaces the flap over the treated area of the cornea. The eye surgeon will also check for presence of air bubbles and debris, which may have made their way towards the eye. The flap will heal itself naturally by attaching itself to the cornea. This usually takes about a few weeks to a couple of months.
There are several things the patient must do after lasik eye surgery. Various antibiotics and anti-inflammatory eye drops are given to the patient for the first few weeks after the eye treatment. Prescription drops and preservative-free tears are then utilized in order to moisturize the eyes. The patient also needs much sleep in order to speed up the recovery process. The eyes must also be protected from vivid and bright lights by using dark-colored eye gear.
